Taycan Turbo S Facelift with Active Ride - book now with JB CarConcept
The first edition of the Taycan has already proven that Porsche can do electric really well. Now the second edition is hitting the road with a bundle of model upgrade measures - now available as the Taycan Turbo S with Active Ride suspension from JB CarConcept. Carried over from its predecessor: 800-volt technology, concept as a narrow 4-door saloon. Dimensions of the body.
Technical highlights
The two electric motors with more power and reduced weight show that electric drives still have a lot of development potential. Further examples of the high-tech equipment with which Porsche is sending the Taycan into the race: the new LED headlights with 32,000 individually controllable micro-units and the brake system with carbon-ceramic composite brake discs. You should test extensively what decelerations are possible with these. We'll just note that the braking performance can clearly keep up with the breathtaking acceleration (0 to 200 km/h in under eight seconds).
Porsche has also further increased the DC charging power. From the previous 270 kW to up to 320 kW. This means that the battery with its pouch cells reaches 80% SOC in less than half an hour; after 10 minutes of charging, 50% SOC is already exceeded when the battery is empty.
Model update in handling and cockpit
The handling, sports seats and ergonomics were already good in the first edition of the Taycan. Only the details have been fine-tuned. For example, calling up the additional power requires a modified switch for the driving modes and more information has been added to the central display. The Porsche's e-sound is also an impressive experience both when accelerating and recuperating.
Perfect blend of agility and comfort - the Active Ride suspension
The engineers from Zuffenhausen have come up with an outstanding solution with the Active Ride suspension of the new Taycan. The suspension, which is already equipped with adaptive dampers, is supplemented by a technology that controls wheel-selective compression and rebound. The result is impressive in all traffic situations. Although the Taycan starts off with an unladen weight of well over 2,300 kg, the Active Ride suspension ensures comfort at the highest level, irons out even the worst stretches of road and still enables an extremely sporty driving style with high cornering speeds. The weight becomes a minor matter. Simply testing the possibilities of the Active-Ride suspension extensively should provide highly interesting insights. That's why we at JB CarConcept naturally make the Taycan available with the Active-Ride suspension.
Further characteristics of the new Taycan:
- Length: 4.96 m, width: 1.97 m, height 1.38 m
- All-wheel drive with fixed gear ratio at the rear and two-speed automatic transmission on the front axle
- Maximum output: 570 kW / 775 hp (with Launch Control 700 kW and 1,110 Nm torque)
- Battery capacity: 97 kWh (net)
- Consumption according to WLTP: 17.9 kWh / 100 km
- Charging power 320 kW DC, 11 kW AC
- Top speed: 260 km/h (limited)
- Cw: 0.22
The new Taycan Turbo S - a facelift with the “wow” effect.
From a sober point of view, the “facelifted” Taycan is actually a new vehicle. The shape, interior design and 800-volt technology are largely carried over from the first edition. In all other dimensions, from performance, comfort and handling to charging, the Turbo S raises the bar significantly.
