Award-winning design of the Nissan ARIYA, available at JB CarConcept with either an 87 or 63 kWh battery option

The new ARIYA from Nissan aims to be an expression of a new vision behind Nissan - indeed, a further development of its brother, the Leaf. It comes with some interesting design solutions to achieve this: a single horizontal line instead of blurred contours, narrow LED front headlights, coupé-style roof line sloping down to the rear with equal antennas in the shape of conventional fish fins, a spacious, lounge-like interior.

The Japanese manufacturer is now changing its strategy from the standard CHAdeMO connector used by Nissan for the Leaf. The new ARIYA features the CCS standard connection, which is significantly more common in Europe. This is a strong signal, given that the ARIYA will be manufactured exclusively in Japan for the time being.

In terms of both dimensions and classification as an electric crossover coupé, the ARIYA is a direct competitor to the VW ID.5 (Pro Performance version available from JB CarConcept). Other vehicles in this market segment include the Ford Mustang Mach-E, Skoda Enyaq Coupè, BMW iX3, Mercedes EQA, Tesla Model Y and Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron. Here are some selected additional facts:

  • Lithium-ion battery with 87 kWh or optionally 63 kWh, for 420 km to 530 km range according to WLTP

Prospects

Nissan is promising some unexpected thrills with the top version of the ARIYA: e-4ORCE technology, two engines with a system performance achieving 225 kW / 306 hp and all-wheel drive. The result is supposed to deliver a "perfect balance between performance and maximum control in all conditions". Soon to be available in this version at JB CarConcept.
