BMW i5 Touring - electric, spacious and immediately available for your tests as eDrive40

Almost a year ago, we presented the new, all-electric BMW i5 to you. Now we are following up with the sixth edition of the Touring. A full 10 cm longer, it offers more space for rear seats and luggage than previous 5 Series generations. The futuristic-looking instrument design (curved housing with two displays) and richly equipped entertainment electronics including “in-car gaming” set BMW's own virtues against the competition. Although in the case of the Touring, this is very clear: in the premium sector, only the Audi A6 e-tron Avant has so far.

Well equipped for the popular estate car market in Europe

With its wheelbase of just under three meters, the i5 Touring is well equipped to compete in the estate car market. There is a minimum load volume of 570 liters with the rear seat bench upright. The low loading sill, the wide luggage compartment opening, the high-swinging tailgate and a number of storage compartments will delight loading enthusiasts. Unfortunately, they will have to do without the former BMW-specific separately opening rear window.

Also in the 5 Series Touring - all drive types in one architecture

Your test drives will prove it: the BMW i5 eDrive40 Touring drives like a 5 Series should. Sporty, committed, light on its feet. Which is not to be taken for granted with an unladen weight of over 2,250 kg. Compared to the saloon, there is also the increased utility value. We also consider BMW's strategy of offering petrol, diesel, plug-in hybrid and BEV in one body architecture to be exciting for comparison drives and tests. Conceptually, this is a fundamental difference to the Touring competition such as the VW ID.7 Tourer and Nio ET5 Touring.
