JB CarConcept presents: the bZ4X, the first all-electric SUV from Toyota
While Toyota's alternative drive concepts have so far primarily involved vehicles with hybrid drive systems, the world's largest automobile manufacturer is now taking an open-minded approach to technology. Alongside its Mirai fuel cell car (available from us), "bZ" is to become a sub-brand of its own for vehicles with no local emissions.
"bZ" stands for "beyond Zero.
The new bZ4X is the first of more than 30 planned zero-emission vehicles. And as such, it is a "pioneer of the new generation of all-electric vehicles" at Toyota. Competing against its corporate brother the RAV4, the SUV has good credentials: robust design and dynamic styling. The bZ4X achieves this thanks to its sloping rear end and low height of 1.65 meters.
Well-equipped for off-road terrain and practical for everyday use
Toyota gives specific information on ground clearance and fording depth and equips the bZ4X with a special off-road driving program. It would be an interesting feature for tests and comparative drives if its suitability for everyday use were to be tested.
The large wheelbase measuring in at 2.85 m creates plenty of space, even on the rear bench seat. The somewhat conventional design of the interior and the dashboard make it easy to get used to the controls of the Toyota bZ4X. Practical pushbuttons can be used to operate important basic functions such as air conditioning and ventilation.

Gaining ground on the competition with the "Kanzen concept"?
There are plenty of competitor vehicles for the new bZ4X on the market: VW ID.5, especially in the GTX configuration, Tesla Model Y, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6 and the hybrid SUV from Toyota's own RAV4. This is why Toyota is providing the bZ4X with a new sales concept that Toyota dubs "Kanzen" (jap. "complete/whole"): Toyota dealers not only sell the vehicle, but also provide support covering many aspects of e-mobility; such as the installation of wallboxes, applications for government funding, special insurance policies and information on the location of charging stations.
On top of that is the 10-year warranty offered on the battery of the bZ4X, something that stands out among the competition.
