What exactly is an all-electric crossover? That's what Kia calls the Niro with its newest drivetrain. Our impression at JB CarConcept: the e-Niro is not really an SUV, but neither is it a classic representation of a compact car. The Kia e-Niro is more like a normal, everyday car with less ground clearance than a conventional SUV and no all-wheel drive, but with a higher seating position. It offers occupants plenty of headroom and legroom, a comparatively large luggage capacity for electric vehicles with a range of up to 455 km. The e-Niro displays all important data and comfort information on two 7“ and 10.25“ LCD screens.
Apart from the electric drivetrain, the e-Niro does offer a few other special features when compared to classically powered compact cars. Its electricity regeneration system can be adjusted in several stages. This enables so-called "one-pedal driving", where the brake pedal can largely be done away with (except in emergencies, of course). The braking effect from the e-Niro's regenerative system provides enough deceleration in normal traffic and at low speeds and artificial noises are made to draw attention from pedestrians.
